Bargoed Warriors faced Trinant in a WRU Bowl Match with the boys looking to build on last week’s great performance against Cardiff Met.
The Warriors were irrepressible in both attack and defence as they came away with. 60-0 victory to once again please the coaching and management staff.
There were tries for Niall Alexander 3, Kayne Greenslade 2, Julian Mogg, Jason James, Jordan Purcell, Jason Angel and Owain Cooper with Lawson Perry adding the extras.
This was another excellent performance from this young side with Adam Jones outstanding and locks Hywel Ennis and Glenn Lucas getting through a huge amount of work in an industrious pack.
They will be pleased with the effort but also the accuracy in attack. Trinant also worked their socks off but Bargoed’s defence was superb with everyone working hard on and off the ball. Coach Gary Jones was delighted with the victory as they now look forward to the next round, ‘The boys were excellent today and we knew that we had to play well as Trinant were unbeaten in the league and in second place in National League 3 East C’
He added ‘We have a great combination of experience with players like Toby Richards and Ian Jenkins playing alongside the youngsters who have just come out of the Youth team rugby like Niall Alexander, who was once again superb today’
Well done to veteran Ian Jenkins who recently passed his 40th birthday, and played 80 minutes on Saturday and then did the Cardiff Half Marathon in 1 hour 56 minutes on Sunday. He is the current Bargoed Warriors Man of Steel who wants it next week?
