Bargoed Youth travelled the short distance to Blackwood to play another Dragons League game, and came out on top with a 19-5 victory. This was a gutsy performance from Bargoed against a much improved Blackwood side, who fought hard throughout. It was a workmanlike performance with all of the side working hard for each other.
Bargoed scores four tries through Jake Rees, Dan Mayo and Luke Cusack getting two, with two conversions from Rhys Thomas, but this was a real team effort.
Bargoed remain top of the league and they now look forward to a couple of important cup matches, so there is plenty to play for, for this young developing squad.
It starts with a District Cup match at home against Caerphilly this week. Kick off 2.30 p.m.
