Bargoed Warriors travelled to Caerleon on the weekend and came away with a hard fought win against a spirited home side. The Warriors who were short on numbers with a no. of boys unavailable, worked their socks off and ended up 53-24 winners, and are now top of the National 2nd XV Conference with a game in hand.
The Youth also had an excellent win in the quarter finals of the Dragons Plate competition, as they took on Penallta away from home, and came out on top 27-12 with a convincing performance against a hard working outfit.
There were tries from Ieuan Morgan (2), Joel Griffiths and Morgan Lloyd with Rhys Thomas adding the extras with a penalty and two conversions.
This was Bargoed’s most complete performance of the season, with the team working hard in defence and always looking to attack with ball in hand There were good performances from Jake Rees and Jack Price but this was a real team effort. Well done lads!!
