It was a clean sweep on Saturday will all three sides victorious, so there were some happy faces on show in the club on Saturday evening.
The Warriors travelled to Pill Harriers for a friendly after Risca had pulled out late on in the league fixture.
They played some great rugby in the 82-17 victory, but credit to the hosts as they never threw the towel in and battled to the final whistle.
Bargoed’s try scorers were Niall Alexander 3, Kayne Greenslade 2, Keegan Bale, Julian Mogg, Ian Jenkins, Gary Jones, Adam Jones and Callum Jones who also kicked six conversions in a comprehensive victory.
The Youth entertained Caldicot in a Dragons League fixture on the artificial surface at Ystrad Mynach and played some sublime rugby in a cracking game of rugby. There were tries from Captain Luke Cusack 3, Ieuan Morgan 2, Joel Griffiths, and Rhys Thomas, who also added the points with the boot for a thoroughly deserved 50-17 victory.
This was another excellent performance from this hard working group, although they didn’t get on the scoresheet both Tom Kelly and Kyle Bailey put huge shifts in up front.
The Youth are still in the hunt for league and cup honours with only a narrow defeat to Nelson the only loss in the league this season. Indeed they stand top of the league at the moment and will be relishing their next league game with Abertillery in a few weeks time.
