Both senior sides and the youth were in action last Saturday.
The 1st XV had a bonus point 32-16 win at Glamorgan Wanderers and move up to fourth in the National Championship.
The Warriors had a tough encounter against a well organised and talented St Peters outfit, but came away with another win to maintain their unbeaten start in the National Conference.
They scored five tries from Callum Davies, Ben Jones, Jordan Howells, Jack Carey and Luke Ellaway, who also added a penalty and three conversions, for an excellent 34-17 victory.
The Youth narrowly lost out to Maesteg RFC in the National Youth Cup going down to a narrow 21-17 defeat. Bargoed scored three tries from Keaton Davies and two from Lewis Cooper, and Rhys Thomas kicked a conversion.
There was the usual dogged display by the backrow, and strong running from the half backs, especially Lewis Cooper with yet another MOM display. Wing Kaelem Jones, was also in great form with his raw talent and industrious attitude.
This week the 1st XV face Tata Steel at home. The Warriors travel to Brecon for a tough National Conference (East) tie, looking to maintain their excellent start to the season. The Youth host Caerleon in a Dragons League fixture. All kick offs 2.30pm.
Next week on Wednesday 9th September there is a Worthington Wednesday night at Bargoed RFC with Phil Steele, Scott Baldwin and Dan Lydiate.
It all kicks off at 7.30 and it’s £10 a ticket. Please contact Alan Lovell or Mostyn Davies for tickets.
