Bargoed Warriors had a fine 36-5 victory in the 2nd XV National Conference again local rivals and last season’s winners Penallta. There were some fine individual performances but this was a real team effort. Bargoed scored five tries through Adam Jones, Matthew Hutcheon, Duane Dyer, Keegan Bale and Jason James. It was also good to see some of last season’s youth team boys coming through and playing well with both Niall Alexander and Liam Morris in action. Hutcheon and Burgwin were pulling the strings at half back behind a dominant scrum and hard working pack, which resulted in some superb tries being scored. Good to see local boys Jason James, Hywel Ennis and Steffan Jeremiah back in Bargoed colours.
The Warriors will need all of their squad as they look forward to another tough challenge next week against Pontllanfraith in the WRU Bowl.
Bargoed Youth also had a great win with a 45-0 victory away at Chepstow in a Dragons League fixture.
